Question I heard a rumer about bl's...and sag

So I was at a party, and of course, met another jeeper, talked about everything on lifting them, the dude mentioned don't ever get a body lift, because it can cause the frame(tub I'm guessing) to sag....Is this true? I was thinking about lifting mine and staying away from a bl....searched online but couldn't find anything on them sagging with one, has this ever happened to anyone? /Does a bl put stress on the tub? I'd rather not have a droopy jeep. :]

Nope, not even close to being true. He was just spreading a rumor he had heard.

One more small piece of info where body lifts are concerned... avoid 2" and 3" body lifts, they create more problems than they are worth. Body lifts are really only to create a tad more clearance so if you need more than 1", go with a suspension lift.

Yeah totally, I'm looking to get the rancho 3.5 short arm with the rs9000xl remote adjustable shocks, followed by the super nice 500 dollar rebate, down the road of course....I think it only had a 1inch bl in it. Looked like a pretty decent kit, especially w/ the rebate.

Did a 2" body lift myself, now I am sorta regretting it.... Lining up the 5 speed shifter (to properly go through all 5 gears & reverse without hitting console.) has been a royal pain in the A_ _. Jerry Bransford is correct, the Jeep body/frame whether stock or lifted only ever makes contact in the same points. The entire body DOES NOT rest on the frame of a stock Jeep. So there is now way lifting it could cause a sag.
