I know axle threads are old...

Be confirmed from years-old threads that my 05 Sport is lucky enough to have the D44 rear axle - the 35 and 44 in the rear are pretty easy to distinguish. Could I be lucky enough to have a 44 front as well? Seems there's less info available on this topic. Pic attached as long as the mobile app is as good as it seems to be:

The indentation to the driver's side of center does not continue all the way to the top.

Insight from the experts?

If I'm indeed lucky enough to have both, should I add lockers to my wish list? Not worth a couple thousand to me, but if I already have the axles, it could be a nice start to a Rubiclone...

I would say Dana 30. Im pretty sure the only tj's that came with Dana 44 front were the Rubicons.

Either way the Tj d44 isn't that much stronger than the d30 and if your sticking to 33s I would lock it anyways. Even on 35s although you may want to switch to a hp30 later and add things like shafts u joints etc.

Thanks all! Buying used just makes me keep wondering what kind of fun surprises I'll get. The D44 rear was certainly a good one!

Yep, the Dana 30 just happens to have a strong resemblance to the Dana 44... you do have a Dana 30 up front.
