But I just got my 2" BB lift installed about 10 days ago AND...
I have since gone through 3 tanks of gas (unfortunately this is normal for me). AND...these last 3 tanks, since the lift, my MPG has increased from a 15.6 avg mpg to 17.1 mpgunk:.
After the first tank I thought it was an anomaly. Then the second tanks got even better, and now the third time in a row. I don't know what to make of this. I thought surely a lift would DECREASE my mpg due to increased wind resistance as I've always been told. NE body else experienced this or have an explanation (not that im complaining of course).
Are you sure you have not revised your driving habits a little bit due to the increased elevation? Most likely you are a little lighter on the skinny pedal in the turns.
Since I lifted mine I'm much more conservative in my driving especially going into the high speed turns....Don't want to flip her....
I getcha, but actually, I think I'm a little more agressive b/c the shocks I put on are much tighter and feels a lot more comfortable in turns and on the hwy than the stock ones.
Wouldn't it work the other way? The speedometer is reading the axle turns. With larger tires, you would cover more distance per turn. Thus, the speedometer would underestimate the distance.
well i hvae a 20 gallon tank (yj) and it will get just before the E mark in the red warning marker. I will go to fill it up and only be able to put 15-16 gallons in it.
Another thing that will help with your gas mileage is (MOA) Motor Oil Additive.....it's made by K&B i think...............you put it in every oil change........i just started using it at 36,000 miles and i already see a difference in the first can, although it is quite expensive.
