I need some help/advice selling this 97 Wrangler Sport.

Hello everyone. This place is amazing. Makes me wish I could keep this Jeep that fell into my hands but, alas, I can not. My father picked this up in March '11 from the only owner. The original owner kept the best records I've ever seen in a 3 ring binder. Every service record, every oil change, everything. This is pretty amazing and helpful.See what I mean?

I listed it on craigslist for $5000 and got a lot of interest.

I'm hoping this forum can tell me if I'm over charging. I do not want to rip anyone off, or waste peoples time. I wasn't aware of any problems untill the first guy came to look at it (I'm selling it for my Father, he can't keep it)

1. Frame.
It has a brand new sticker my dad got. Did the mechanic miss this? Do I need to point it out to a potential buyer? Is this something that can be fixed with a kit?

2. Body
My dad likes to tinker with cars. He "fixes" it so it passes inspection, but it looks like absolute sheit. How much do you think it would cost to make it beautiful again?

The interior looks pretty good, as does the rest of it for the most part. I'm including a bikini, an extra brand new wheel (aside from the spare) and two extra doors. it has 173,000 miles, clutch replaced at 78k. It has lived in Maine, with minimal off road use.

What's a fair price for this Jeep?

Keep the 5K and point out the issues. Get ready to come down a little. If somebody offers you 4K cash and knows the problems, sell!

It's not a bad price. 4.0? The worst is the frame, and that's a tough spot. It's probably fixable with an overlay, but I dunno, the amount of rust is questionable and could be too much. I see a little around the brackets, not too bad, but still... If too much on the actual frame, it's a frame replace. The rest of the repairs look like rust coverage too.

Good records are great, but if the frame falls off it doesn't matter anymore.

I wouldn't pay more than $2500 with the frame issue and mileage IMO.
