I recently purchased an 06 TJ

After growing up on a farm many years ago, and getting about on the pastures with a very old TJ, I finally purchased my own Daily Driver. It's an 06, and it had 18K miles on it when purchased. I added Cruise Control this week, and a HardTop with the wiring for the Wiper & Defrost.

I bought an 05 X with 12k miles on it for $14,000. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay?

When I bought my '03 Rubicon in Sept of '08 it had 7500 miles on it and I paid $15200 OTD. It came with 12.5x33x15's on Eagle alloys and a Pro Comp 4" lift. I drove away feeling like I'd robbed someone. Everything else listed in my signature and Jeep profile was added by me.

I was told that an older couple bought it to drive to Titan's games. They bought it in 2005 and returned it to the same dealer. It's in great shape visually, I haven't really had it completly checked out under the hood yet. Hasn't caused any problems...yet (knock on wood). It was a little out of my price range but I figured after shopping around and seeing some Jeeps 10 yrs old going 10k or higher. So hopefully after I own it if I need to sell it I can look to get most my money back....right?

Plus I wanted to see if was that good of deal, thanks guys you make me feel like I made the right choice

I paid 17,500 for mine. There aren't many in Southeast Michigan, so I couldn't be too pickey.

Well I wouldnt trust what the dealer said. But yea at 10k hopeflly nothings wrong. You might have that gas puking problem and grinding in reverse (if this happens youre covered under TSB)

One benefit on mine, I was able to add a Factory warranty, up to 100,000 miles, or 5 years. I've already used it, the spider gears in the rear axle were noisy. Free repairs.

I purchased my 06 TJ Unlimited back in December. It had 24,000 miles. Probably paid too much @ $18,500, but it is in cherry condition. Tow package, cruise, satellite radio, nerf bars and grille cover. I don't plan to do much upgrading. Do wish I had a hardtop, and I might lose the 'milkjugs'. My neighbor bought an 05 TJ with, get this, 3,500 (three thousand five hundred) miles. Must have been driven to church only every other Sunday!

Got my '06 with just under 12k for 13,000. The only aftermarket thing it had were some shiny hubcaps over the standard wheels. I removed them and replaced the rattly shifter knob. After seeing some of the above deals I guess I may have overpaid a bit since it's the 4 banger but I love it all the same heh.

I found the cruise control kit on eBay, the actual Mopar kit, for $226.12 shipped. I searched on the part number 82209481AB - here's the link to e/Bay : Jeep Wrangler TJ factory SPEED CONTROL OEM 82209481AB : eBay Motors (item 160170780525 end time Mar-22-10 13:17:25 PDT)

I had contracted it into my deal, and the local Jeep dealer subbed it to a auto detailer called Ameristar. I convinced them to use Factory parts, the Jeep Dealer couldn't acquire them, so I found it, the dealer paid me for the parts, and Ameristar didn't care whether they used Mopar Cruise, or what they would have put it, an aftermarket kit from rostora, Universal cruise, which adds another stalk to the Steering column.

I spent literally months looking for a decent TJ last fall. Finally ended up with an '03 Sahara with 34,000 one-owner miles. I bought it off a dealer for $14,500 but let me tell you, it was like pulling teeth getting it at that price.

So far, I've put about 4,000 miles on it and it's definitely a keeper. I consider myself lucky to have found it and plan to hang onto it for a good long time.

FYI just bought the OEM speed (cruise) control part # 82209481AB for $192.70. Also bought some oem rubber splash guards for the front part # 82202304, and the oem security system for under $200 including the wiring package. bought other misc stuff (oem wheel locks, cargo net) too...prices are REALLY good on this website jeeppartsmall.com
