I think its time for a better alternator and additional battery!

Hey Everyone,

Good news! I've got some stuff I'm installing onto the rig during the week and thought maybe it is a good time to start upgrading to a better alternator and possibly additional battery.

My current setup includes:

One set of lights on the windshield. (Hella 500 Driving Lights)

One Set of lights on the grill guard. (Hella 500 Fog Lights)

One set of lights on the bumper. (Hella 500 Fog Lights)

One set of KC reverse lights on rear bumper.

With plans of adding a sub and amp, would it be a good idea to add an additional battery or perhaps a better alternator to handle everything that is going on?

Let me know what you all think. Have a great night!

Vin

If you run them a lot, I've heard that the Sears Diehard Platinum Plus is a good battery that should be more than enough instead of dual batteries. It's expensive but might be a good investment with that many lights. I don't know if the stock alternator is enough, I would guess it is but better to leave that question to someone else.

don't think you will need and alternator, i'm running 2000watts to my sub and another 400 to my speakers, all i needed to do was just get a better battery, no need for an alternator for just a bunch of lights. i put in an interstate mega tron plus for $115 and matches up to an optima yellow top.
