I want to fit a lift kit to my 2000 TJ

Hi All,

I want to get some bigger wheels on my TJ and have been looking at various lift kits.
Im not much of an offroader, Dare I say it but Im doing this more for appearance .
I have been reading various different threads about the modifications necessary and it all seems a little daunting.
If you dont mind, I would like a little advice on what to get, (I do plan to fit this myself) Im fairly new to working on my own Jeep but it's something I want to do.
I have been looking at the Skyjacker 2.5 inch lift kit but thought I would check with you guys first.
Also what else willl I need if I install this kit?

Cheers.

how big do you want to go on tires?

if you want to make a small investment, i'd suggest running a BB for now. if you want to go bigger later, you wont be wasting too much money and it doesnt change the ride qualities much

From what I can make of it, I can go with 33s if I fit the 2.5 lift. Like I said it's more for looks as I'm putting in an all new interior, new bumpers, flat flares etc, i just want to get the whole job done. I'm o with 5-600 on the lift kit. I just need to know what else I need to get and change on the Jeep with a 2.5 inch lift.

Yes please, Photos would be great. Is a body lift something I could do myself easily?

stay with 32 x 11.50's and the 2.5 inch. You will be happy and it will keep your cost down. If you ever want to step up to 33's then all you do is add in a body lift (1 inch)

but for light trails and speed bumps you'll be fine with 32's and stock gears
