I was wrong

I was wrong but for what it is worth I was misinformed. I had been told (by sales people) that half tops wouldn't fit on '03-'06's - however was informed through this site, that they will but will have to "work a little to make it fit". This my fairly stock '04 sport.

So I did here is the results-ordered this last week maybe should have put it under what did you do for your jeep today-but thought that maybe this is the best way to show that "speaking" with the people in the forum may be better than just taking what one person, who may not know, as fact.

Thanks WF!
Thanks Geoff!

Looks cool man . . . I dig that set up. Does it seal up nicely or do you get some wind or water coming in?

It is as tight as my factory soft top and warmer (heating less area) and more quiet.

Looks great John! Glad you found out you could make it fit. What did you have to do for it to work?

Are the speakers left outside? Can you hear them?

IG I had to remove a couple pieces of the padding for the roll bar-but left cover for roll bars on.

Flint-removed the stock speakers - but have sound wedges behind seat-may add a over head bar that is in front of hoop. for more speakers don't know yet.

to the OP or anyone who has used these before...

how do those work in terms of weight it can hold over the "bed" area...

in other words. What happens there's 2 feet of snow on it?

Awesome!!!
Glad that worked.

If anyone is curious, what he's talking about is that the halftop options from Bestop stop with the 02 model. In '03 the rollbars got a lot fatter. So this top doesn't "officially" fit. But sometimes the official answer is a bit safe, a bit too conservative. So if someone is skilled at installing things, able to extend straps if necessary, and won't yell and scream at me when it doesn't work, well, then that person has some options. Nice options!

Yeah, Geoff gave it away it is a Bestop-and I have bikini, duster cover and wrap around jammer as well as regular jammer. I actually do switch between the wrap around and "straight" jammer-depends on weather-mainly rain or too hot. I will continue to do so as I like the adaptability it gives me.

I feel the back portion could easily support a lot of snow-but it may be a situation that I won't run into. My Jeep is garaged most of the time unless I am at work-or driving it!!!

Thanks for the compliments-anyone have any good suggestions for speaker sound bar in front of roll bar over the seats? I have looked VDP but not committed to anything yet.

I find those interesting but I have a question. It looks like the back wall part is connected to the center top roll bar. does that leave you enough room to put the seat back far enough to drive comfortably? When I am sitting in the drivers seat an look up I am directly under that roll bar. Does that mean I could not use that setup you think?

I have'nt done it, but i know some people take off the factory speaker bar and move it to the front of the rollbar. You have to swap the left and right speakers withn this mod and i believe drill new mounting holes.
