Post Identifying what transmission you have

I hope this isn't a question but how can you tell what transmission you have in your jeep? Any tell tale signs by just looking at it or do I have to get some numbers off of it to tell? Also, how can you tell what transfer case you have as well? just trying to note what I have on my rig.

Send Chrysler an email with your vin number and they will tell you what your Jeep came with from the factory. The other part will be figuring out if it is still stock or not. The transfer has a red/silver tag on it that you can tell real quick by.
