Ides for Jeep Cover w/ roof rack

I am new here, but had a question.

I have an 06 LJ Rubicon, with the Dave's rack. My new garage isnt tall enough to park in, so I wanted to buy a cover to keep outdoors. Any ideas on Mfgrs that cater to jeeps with roof racks? If I get a fitted cover, it will stop about 8-12 inches above the bottom of the tub. Any ideas, or previous threads on this would be great.

Do you want to cover just down to the window bottoms to reduce morning frost clean off or the whole jeep

For just the windows you could use a silver tarp and some duct tape and make a custom one from one of those harbor freight tarps

Could do same for whole jeep but would be heavy and bulky but that is how we keep our hay stack snow free and dry. Course we only have to lift a corner to get the horse her hay.

They also sell pre made you erect pole held up tent enclosures that might work or one of those prefab metal canopy tops

I don't think you will find a custom top that clears the rack and if you did it would be so big and bulky that it would be hard to be motivated to put it on and off daily especially with heavy snow on top of it

Digger,

Thanks for the reply. I do not use it as a daily driver, and my lovely HOA wont allow "Car Tents". I did find a company that will make a cover with specific specs. They want my second born, but I still may do it.

We dont get any snow down here in SoCal. I just want it to keep it looking good between dirt runs

That makes it easy

Get a surplus nylon parachute and take it and dimensions to a local upholstery shop and you should have a custom nylon cover at little cost

They or you need to sew in tie downs

Other option is buy a standard LJ cover and have someone cut off very top and reattach with an extension sleeve to accommodate the rack

I have the same problem... I bought one for a small truck with campershell and it's still too small... Barely covers the bottom of the tub.

What company makes it to specific specs ?
