im confused on what i all need....

ok so i finally saved up the money to buy my lift kit and tires...Rubicon Express Extreme Duty 5.5 Long Arm Kit with 35x12.50r15 mickey thompson baja radial MTZ claws, ill be ordering this next week sometime

5.5" Rubicon Express Ultimate Extreme Kit for TJ Wrangler

Ok so this kit comes complete with everything i need except for axles.

I have the 30/35 axle combo, and i know i need to strengthen them

I want a locker for sure in the back, but i would really like to be fully locked, now keep in mind when i return home (2 years ) this is still gonna be my DDD until i find a truck that i want to fork money over for.

these are what im looking at
Yukon Super 35 Kit 90-06 TJ,YJ,XJ with Detroit Locker

or possiblly this

Yukon Super 35 Kit 90-06 TJ,YJ,XJ with ARB Locker

but is the arb locker really worth the extra 200...they also have it with a detroit locker...any suggestions or maybe a website to buy it cheaper.

and what else would i need with these kits, do i have to buy new gears or is that all in the locker....

and if i dont lock teh 30, should i jsut replace the gears and the shafts or just the gears..

i plan on using this rig for moderate clinbing on the colorado trails when i come home

its an 02 X, i6, not sure of the transfercase and all, and its an automatic

thanks in advance, i know you are the guys i can turn to with questions like such

sounds like you are on the right track. you def need to upgrade the dana 35. If it were my jeep id put the super 35kit with a detroit or ARB in the back. up to you, both lockers work great. the ARB will just be selectable so you can turn it on and off at will. the dana 30 will be ok for now. but if your gonna be romping on it definatly save up for a super 30 kit as well.

Your Tcase is a NP231 and is fine. It will also hold up to some pretty good abuse.

your trans is the 32rh. descent tranny, I would add a cooler and a deep pan with a pick up extension. rubicon express has a kit at a good price. its what i run. without the pan and extension on steep climbs your trans has a chance of loosing line pressure and then going into a "neutral" state which will put you in reverse on the hill. also make sure you run sythentic in the trans or ATF +4

the only thing on the group4x4 buy i dont think you need is the 1"body lift. and I dont think you wlil need the motor mount lift either but you may.

As you stated this is going to be your daily driver, thus get a selectable locker in the back. Life will be much happier in traffic, as any full time locker tends to push you a bit on the street, also tire's wear faster in some cases. If you go the ARB route make sure the shop or who ever is doing the install has done a bunch of them. Most ARB issues are related to a poor install.
