indicator on transfercase

My 4wd light doesnt work- I found a sensor floating around by my T case but dont know where it plugs into.. Could it be the 4wd indicator ?

97 TJ 4 cyl

Sensor is a two wire drivers side on top of transfer case. This is what it looks like.
