Installed Rough Country BB

Well I installed my Rough Country 2"/1.25" lift a little bit ago and it went really smooth. Now I installed the front first and after that I lowered it back down and my ride was actually completely level but I wanted to install the rear shocks but thought my new ones would be too long so I went ahead and installed the rear 1.25 spacer. Now again it is raked to the front, front sits almost 2" lower then the rear but I also have a winch plate and 8000lb winch (about 140 lbs on the front) now would I have any issue adding some 2" springs to the front with already having the 2" spacer? I know that would normally add up to too much lift but with all the weight its not as high.

Note: I realize now that with the extra money I'm going to spend on springs I would be in the same amount as a actual lift With springs but Id still be lower in the front and need a spacer. Anyways still will wait to see if 2" springs will be ok to even out my ride. I do Not have a transfer case lowering kit.

Ha i just started a thread about the same thing! Hmm i think you shouk just get a new spring ... I wa thinking a 3"HD xj spring
Even if the front is alittle higher i can add a .75 space or something to the back

What were you thinking for yous?

I just added a 2" spacer to the front and a 1-1/4" spacer on the back on stock springs. I was thinking of just adding the Pro Comp 170lb 2" front lift springs from summit

Wranglers do have a rake to the from the factory, and since you have factory springs and 2" spacers, adding in new 2" springs would actually be more like a 4" lift in the front.

I think it would be more like a 3" or so wouldnt it with all the added weight of the winch and winch mount? I understand there is a rake but it shouldnt be a 2" difference should it?

Depending on the condition of the springs, it's possible. Factory rake is between 1.25-1.75" from what I've read. If you do get new springs, get 4 new ones and remove the spacers from the rear, add them later when/if needed.

What year is your TJ? Anything more than 5 or 6 years and I bet the springs have sagged... adding those 2" spacers only brought it back to stock height.

I drove it today, drove great, nice and smooth. Had another question for you guys, when removing my springs to install the BB there were no clips holding the bottom of the springs on... how important are these? I do not intend to do any serious trails or anything this is more of a winter vehicle
