Question Installed wheels/tires vs. door sticker

I recently purchased a 2001 TJ Sport. It came with 15x8 canyon wheels and BFG 31x10.5x15 tires. The spare is a 15x8 canyon with Goodyear 30x9.5x15 tire. I emailed Chrysler for my build sheet, which shows that the canyon rims and 30x9.5x15 tires are original. The original owner must have added the 31's (which from researching the forum, looks to be okay on a stock TJ). What confuses me is the door sticker does not match what was installed. The door sticker says 15x7 wheels with 2??'s (tire size escapes me). Is this normal? I would have thought if the Jeep was ordered with the bigger wheels/tires, the sticker would have been adjusted accordingly. Any thoughts?

I'm no expert but it sounds like the prev owner installed the 15x8 canyons too. On my Sport the 15x8 alloy wheels were an option.

It probably originally came with 15x7 on either 225's or 215's
Previous owner probably upgraded them theirself

I thought the same thing until I got the build sheet from Chrysler that showed the Canyon's and 30's as part of the vehicle build. Also, the spare tire looks like the original 30" Goodyear.

One more thing...The rear axle is a Dana 44 (not 35) which came as part of the Canyon wheel and tire package. I could see the original owner changing the wheels and tires, but not the whole rearend.

I'm pretty sure that year sport models all had the D44 rear anyway.
