In a few hours I will be installing my new Bestop SailCloth replace-a-top.
-Is there anything extra I should do to extend the life of the top?
-Do I need to apply a water proofing spray?
-Should I avoid washing the top for a certain amount of time?
Because the temperature is a high of 59, I was thinking about throwing an electric heater in the garage to get it up to 75 or so. Will I still have complications?
you should be good with the install. it's not too bad and i wouldn't think it's shrunk much at 60 degrees. just make sure you keep it clean and fold it down like the owner's manual tells you to. it will fold smaller and won't rip up as bad.
I've come to a road block. The screws holding the top are extremely rusted. How should I go about this with out having to replace the plastic piece by the wind shield
Well I was able to get them off by cutting the old top off and using vice grips to turn. Worked well. But now I have a different problem. I've been trying to get this top on for about 3 hours. The driver side of the top is real tight, and the passenger side is real loose. I've already began taking everything apart. About to try again. I have a feeling that my hardware might be bent. I'll let you guys know what I find out.
