Insurance question

So my jeep is free and clear but I am keep full coverage on it to the tune of about $90 a month. I am a safe driver with no tickets (I'm 30 - geeze I feel old). And one minor fender bump that I didn't even get fixed on my car.

Do you guys keep full coverage?

Figure out the value of your vehicle (including accessories if you have those covered also). How much is basic liability vs full coverage? Could you afford to fix or replace the vehicle id damage or a loss occurs?

I have full coverage. When my last jeep was stolen, I got paid nicely for my mods. I even billed them for the time i worked on installing the mods at $50/hr.

NICE JOB!

I'm just running liability. In a low-crime area, and I haven't been in a fender bender in over 20 years.

Shop around a bit for ins.. Granted, I am old, and ins doesn't cost that much for me, but sheesh, that seems excessive for a Wrangler. My experience has been that collision isn't nearly as expensive as one might think when you break it down... Look at the options. Liability is generally higher than collision, and is required in every state that I know of, but I'm no ins expert.

I've got a 2000 TJ and have it insured as if it were an 80,000 dollar car.... Replacement cost for all my hi-dollar goody add-ons.
Paid cash for it so it's been paid off.....

I live in a no fault state, pay 700.00 a year for full coverage . If I didn't I would only get $400.00 if anything happened to my jeep.

Mine went up $80 I now pay $180 a month. No tickets recently. I did have a DWI 6 yrs ago, but it was not mentioned. I just bought this jeep and stuck with the same provider. Time to do some shopping and hopefully I can find something better.

It does not help that CT is one of states with the highest insurance rates

some of you are getting stroked on insurance. I pay 75 a month full coverage and have had my fair share of speeding tickets. I would always have full coverage though too many people driving around with no insurance

I'm running full coverage on my 99. If it gets totaled, I can't afford another one in cash, and with my multi car and multi policy discounts, I'm only paying like $150/month for full coverage on 2 cars plus renters ins. I'm 25, haven't had any tickets or accidents in 6 years.

My favorite part of insuring the jeep was when she asked if there was an anti theft device on my jeep. My response was simply "Um... I can unzip the windows from the outside..." She didn't find it as funny as I did.

Hahahaha. That's a big negative. Hmm does transponder keys count as anti theft?

Yes, on Saturday. I was paying just shy of a $100 on my 01 w/o full coverage. Im not sure how rates are calculated. I do know you have to have full coverage when a vehicle is financed. Jeeps tend to be a little higher. I don't know If the value has
got anything to do with it also, I'm sure it does
