This is exactly why I tell people to stay away from stealerships is crap like this. Buying an extended warranty is a load of crap and if they find any dried mud on your supposedly "Trail Rated Jeep" your warranty even if it's the regular manufactures goes right out the effing window. Stealerships are in business to make money, period, not to be your friend. I've told many how Chrysler or and other car company will warranty the parts for the dealership but not the labor, so if you owned a dealership and the average wage for a Journeyman mechanic is say $35hr (Canada) or more would you be relentlessly eating the cost of doing warranty work? I don't think so. Thats why they go out of their way to screw you anyway they can, it's all about the $$$. Think about it, why do you think Toyota was so slow to issue recalls on their accelerator problem or why you never hear about all the TSB's issued strictly to the dealerships from the companies that build the cars, it's because it is a money losing proposition for them to do so. For an example, I have a friend that bought a brand new JK 4 door with extended warranty that came with a "Dealership Installed" 4.5" Skyjacker lift with 35" Pro Comp MT's, the lift was already installed when he saw the Jeep on the lot and bought it. One day he noticed his transmission lines were leaking, so he takes the Jeep back to the dealership for some "warranty repairs". Want to know what they said? They blamed the leaking lines on the lift "HE" installed and wouldn't warranty the work.WOW what a mess they created for themselves there eh! So don't buy any extended warranties and never trust the dealership, I flat out refuse to have anything to do with them.
