Cool Interior Conversion

I have a 1998 Wrangler, and the interior is that "TAN" color, and it looks more orange.
Can anyone tell me if I can buy a "newer" or recent dash & door panels, say from a 2005 in black. And install that in my 1998? I've been told that they use the same back-bone, and that none of the holes have been moved or anything. so i figure I can just remove the old dash, and install the new one the same way. Your help is appreciated.

If ur going black it would be an easy doit urself project. I know a guy who went from spice to black on his interior with a few can of interior paint. Just take everthing apart clean, prep and spray. He also painted the door which was denim of some sort black. I couldn't tell there were originally spice. If ur dash @ door panels has rip, cuts or whatever then I understand why, but if ur interior is clean save your cash and paint them urself..

No, unfortunately the WHOLE dash, console, etc would need to be replaced.
2002 was the last year, then they changed the whole thing. 2003 was a whole new setup sorry to say.

Like said above, if your really wanting to swap it out, paint it. A LOT of write ups have been done by many people before you. Google em ~ lots to be found.

good luck

the metal support is the same, to install the newer tj you need all the pieces and it can be done or you could buy the vinyl activator and paint, paint it yourself and know you did it your way
