Thanks man, I appreciate that.

Naw, I think I'm going to leave those alone. I actually like the way the yellow-ish courtesy lights look on the Tan carpet. And I want to keep the dome light the way it is for plenty of light in there when I need it. The Blue would be pretty dim, and I know that I would eventually get pissed off not being able to see well enough. A white LED might work well in there though.

The one thing that I really don't like is that ugly yellow cover over the hard top light. It looks really gehtto.

Yeah, I used the OEM base's. The ones that I purchased for the LEDs were very cheap and crappy.

If the LEDs aren't working, make sure the polarity is correct. Take the base out of the housing, rotate it 180 degrees, and put it back in that way. Then check them again. If they're still not working, try your OEM lights to make sure that THEY still work. That will rule out a short, and should tell you that maybe the LEDs are bad.

If that is the case, good luck getting your money back from autolumination. They're a real pain in the butt. I had to literally threaten them, before they gave me my money back on a certain situation.

superbrightleds.com is another great LED store...thats where i got mine for my old 03 dodge ram before it was stolen so im doin this also on my 99 wrangler

I bought the b8.5(comes with a base so you just swap them out)leds for my ram and they actually work everywhere in the cluster...as for the HVAC i had to use a neo-wedge and the ones i bought for the ram were a neo-4, and i noticed the inside or middle light is a smaller one for some reason on mine so im guessing that will be a neo-3...i say superbrightleds.com becuz i noticed their prices are better on some things but atleast you can have another place to shop around and check prices with now

If you're going to start this Mod now, you should post all the part #'s and locations of where they go for everyone, from this other site that you're talking about.

Thanks for the heads up on that site, and welcome to the forum.

I don't know. I didn't do my courtesy lights, or my dome light.
I liked the smooth look of the yellow on the Tan carpet.
And I like the dome light to stay useful.
I thought it would make it too dim in my cab by switching it to blue.

Check the Sylvania guide that I posted on page 1, to get the OEM part #'s. Then match everything up accordingly wherever you're buying your LED's.

Then just pop the bulbs out and look at them.
The #'s should be printed right on the bulbs themselves.
At least they where for my HVAC and Trani.
I can't remember if they were printed on the ones in my Cluster.

But I can't tell you what you actually have in there.
The previous owner may have changed some.

Blacktooth... you should make a write up for this mod since there seems to be so many threads now popping up asking how to do it.
Then we can throw it up as a sticky

This was the write up.
It's just a very long/wishy-washy write up,
that you have to go through 5 pages to dig out all the answers.

Sad, but true.
All the needed info is in here.
But are people willing to read through it all to get it?

Enough for now....it's BEER:30

which bulb goes....

So i'm going to go with LED's in the cluster sometime very soon. I just have to choose what colors i'm going to go with. I currently have an alpine cda 7875 heres a link to a pic. the blue buttons are nice and bright at night.

now, since the faceplate is basically blue, white & some amber accents, i'm thinking about going with super white and then another color in the dashboard cluster since one color will drive me crazy after a while. however, which bulbs goes to which guages? is it possible to do the two small bottom corner guages different from the top corner guage colors? since i dont have an owners manual im relying on you guys and gals! i was also going to change the turn signal color. thankssss.

Also, is it possible to do two colors in the AC/Heat/Fan dash? I would like to go blue for the command plate and then amber for the temperature faceplate. (thinking that these will be the colors i choose for the cluster as well)...

Ive wanted to replace the "foot lights" or the lights when you open the doors that light up the foot area with some blue led light sticks they sell at Murrays. Could i just splice wires together to get it to work? anyone done this? thanks

It depends on where you're putting it.
Make sure it's not too long or too wide.

Agreed, I checked the dimensions of the ones you used and others mentioned from audulumination, v-led, and superbright, they're all pretty much the same size give or take 1 or 2 mm. So i'm hoping these will fit. plus it also seemed like these guys have their stuff together with customer service so if i have problems it shouldnt be an issue to resolve. and at $30 for the lights and shipping, i'm not gonna complain yet!

Blacktooth, do you know which spots behind the cluster go to which guages? i made a request a couple post up but no one responeded. Thanks!

I guess you photoshoped the color combo?

Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not sure that will work.
I'm not positive, but I don't think there's a barrier inside the cluster for you to be able to separate colors in that way.

However, there ARE barriers for your blinkers, high-beam, and warning lights.
So you could play with different colors on those I think.

The top 3 are your left/right blinkers and the center one is your high-beam.

Hope that helps a little.

yah actually did it on the regular paint application off the desktop, my photoshop is at the rents....

about the cluster...Let's hope that's not the case. i was basically too lazy and affraid that taking the guage back out would give me another issue with the connections and guage funtions. tomorrow ill have the dielectric grease around and can mess with it then. When you put your lights in how many bulbs did you use?

I bought 7, but just used 5.
5 is all you need for the basic color change.
I got kinda lucky because I found that same size goes in my HVAC,
so I used the other two in there.
(I have a 98 btw, with the old slider controls)
