So I am running 31" Mickey Thompson Baja Claws. It rubs on full turns. Ive heard of getting spacers, but im in need of some new rims. I also know that rims can make your tires stick out a little bit. I just need more information. Here are the two rims I am looking at. They are the same.. just different MM sizes. What exactly does it mean?
FYI those arent real Beadlock wheels just a simulated beadlock. And you will need to make sure they are the right bolt pattern and backspace. You would need the 5x114.3 (which translates to a 5x4.5 bolt pattern) and a 3.5 BS so the second link you showed is the set you would need. the first set is likely for a JK.
The first ones won't fit. They are a different bolt pattern. You want 5 lugs on 114.3 mm (4-1/2") bolt pattern (2nd link). The backspacing will push your tires out about 2".
So will that backspacing push out my tires to where it doesnt rub anymore? This post is alittle old.. I am actually lookin into a 2.25" BB lift. Would that do the job as well? A lot cheaper might i add.
You shouldn't rub at all with that backspacing on any tire you'll be able to run with a 2.25" BB lift. :thumb:
Now your fenders from flexing may be a different story. You should be perfectly fine with 32x11.5 with proper bumpstops to protect your shocks and fenders.
I can't say for sure. I would think you'd still rub. where on the tire does it make contact? 1 or 2 washers on the steering stops should fix it up and won't effect turn radius all that drastically.
For such minor rubbing, I'd just put washers on until it stops. That is unless you are in love with the ION wheels. Now if you are like me and need to justify to the wife why you need new wheels, you absolutely need to get new ones ASAP to avoid a blowout.
They aren't for me, but that doesn't matter to "you".
Now fooling a wife is one thing. Fooling a mother is a whole different ball game. You can get a new wife, but not a mom. I'd go get some washers.
Im gonna get that done today!! Thanks dude! Appreciate it!
