IPF driving lights wiring question

Just bought a set of IPF driving lights from quadratec. My factory fog lights are turned on by pulling outward on the turn signal lever. I would like to be able to turn these on the same way without using the supplied switch. Is this something that can be done or would I run a chance of burning something up? The lights come with a harness and relay that I plan on using. Just wondering if anyone has done this without any problems.

You should use relays to power the IPF's or else you may melt down and burn up the wiring harness.

Yes you can use your factory switch, with your aftermarket lights and relay. All you have to do is use the factory trigger wire and run it to your aftermarket relay. The best way to do this is go to the power distribution block under the hood this is where the factory relay for your factory fog lights is located. Pull the fuse box up and out of the clips, this will expose the underside and wiring of your dist. block. Find the wires going to your factory relay location, then turn your switch on and locate the wire that has power after the switch is on, that is the wire that you want to jump power off of and run to your aftermarket relay. Sorry i cant remember the colors on that particular wire. You will be using the entire aftermarket wiring harness the factory switch just kicks the relay. Also your lights will now work on high and low beam. Do some searching there are some great videos out there that show you exactly how to do this and it works great. Any ?'s just ask its pretty easy.

FYI I have done this on my jeep and there is no way when done properly it can cause any issues, it works perfectly.

I have the ton of switches... the only thing to remember with this is you won't be able to use your fog lights as fog lights if you install them this way.

I don't know what watt the lights are, but "legally" you can't run anything over 55/65 watts on roads. a lot of states also have a 4 head light law, where you can only have 4 lights illuminated on the front of your vehicle at a time. so if you have the driving lights come on with the fogs that is your 4 lights.
