IPF Fatboys should go in IPF E code housings. Stuffing IPF fatboy bulbs in anything else is like buying a jeep and not taking it wheelin.

Just make sure you all get the fatboy bulbs, and not the cheaper ones. I am extremely happy with my IPF E-code capsules and fatboy bulbs

Yes it is. But there are cheaper alternatives. The IPF harness is designed specifically for your vehicle and doesn't require much to wire up. There are other places like suvlights.com that have a universal wiring harness that will work and it is around half the cost.

thank you, thank you...goin to pick up the housings from 4wd warehouse later this week...

now the wiring harness is better only because it works directly with the vehicle? or does it modify the amount of power going to the lights...can I get some more info from ya'll?

You don't need the wiring harness to hook up your new stuff. You will have tons more light compared to what you have now. It honestly does make a difference ditching the factory wiring and upgrading your harness. Your lights will pull power directly from the battery. If you want to know how in depth the harness install will be you should probably contact suvlights. If you can cut and splice wire with a good soldering iron then I'd bet you can install this harness with little effort and time.

I went to 4 wheel parts today to get the housings the guy there (a major dic*) said that I should get the upgrade cause of the power difference of the stock to the IPF's. he also didn't know what the hell I was talking about when I started talking about any of the IPF stuff (said that they didn't carry any of it). is it worth the 90 bucks to do the upgrade or can I install and wait to do the harness at a later time when I can replenish the bank account?

It is worth the 90 bucks to do the upgrade.

You do not have to spend the 90 dollars now.

To put it into perspective, neither my jeep nor my wifes jeep have the harness installed. I have installed it on numerous vehicles and can tell a difference parked side to side. But you don't have to do it now if you don't want to.
