I am currently in the market for a Wrangler and found one I am really interested in. It is a 2001 Wrangler Sport with 110K miles on it, automatic transmission, 4.0L, and it looks like after-market wheels. They are selling it for $7500 but I may be able to knock it down to $7000. Personally, I think this is an amazing price but I know you all are experts (at least compared to my knowledge) of good prices...any help is appreciated!
In my area it's difficult to find a TJ Wrangler in good shape for less than $10K. I bought my '03 for $10,000 and it had 100k on it. I have a buddy who just purchased an '03 for 8 or 9 grand (I forget the exact amount), and his has around 130,000 miles.
If the frame and body aren't rusting away then that looks like a good deal to me.
It seems like a good deal to me as well assuming it's solid. Double and triple check the frame and see what sort of service records you can get. Good luck with the purchase!
