I can tell you that the sticker probably won't work.

I work at a Line-X shop .

I'm not into bed lining the exterior, but if I was, I'd look into a shallow 3D "Rubicon" to apply before the bed liner, like is used for the "Line X" emblem applied under the bedliner.

Yes and no. I don't think it's as drastic as you make it out to be. I do agree a TJ is more car-like compared to a CJ. A CJ isn't much different then a tractor but the JKs are so far from the Jeep roots it's not even funny. Their closer to a new land rover then a Jeep.

Is this based on all the early CJ's and JK's you've driven?

I wouldn't do the exterior of mine, but on some rigs it's cool. I do like spraying the rocker panels on trucks though.

You can put stuff under it like that, just hope whatever you put under it doesn't peel. We don't put the Line-X emblem under, we just have a tag that glues on over it.

My Dad has his truck Line-X'd two years ago, and they applied some sort of emblem under the liner.

Well all the cj's I grew up in. But the jk's no. I'm basing that on their size, the 17" rims, power everything, sat nav touch screen, plastic fenders and grill,

Interesting, guess some shops do that. All the shops around here glue a tag on.

OP, What are you having them do about the soft top rail channel?

Computerized engine management, air bags, plush, plastic interiors, coil spring suspension, CD players, air conditioning, cruise control.....Oh, wait. TJ's have all that.

Not all jks have that. The only thing in that list that mine has is the plastic fenders. Just saying.

Never liked the look of a bedlined exterior. But i also havent seen one that wasnt black and clear coated so im excites to see how it turns out. I like the idea of bedlined tube fenders tho. I hope the bedlined hood doesnt cause overheating problems.

How would bed lining the hood cause overheating?

Possibly the insulation provided by the bed liner?

So, how much valuable thermal transfer does a steel hood have?

It wont. It doesn't insulate THAT good from heat. Heck some LJ's even came from the factory with underhood insulation.

I hear ya! I am seriously nervous about this. I saw some really bad ones and some really great ones done. Thing is, I never know how/where they got the job done. Just hoping by having the pro's do it that it comes out on the "great side" but only time will tell! The color matched part is scaring me the most, not sure how this khaki will turn out. Hoping to get that call today or tomorrow that it is done. I'll definitely get pics up so folks can see (after I get my fenders and everything else on lol)

Well can you at least tell us what you think of the color/finish/texture?

Sure! The color is a tad darker than the original light khaki. It looks more like a flat tone of the color, if that makes sense. The texture is rough, but smoother than the do it yourself type. Looks like it will be easy to clean with a power washer or hose with a strong flow. It still has a slight shine to it due to the clear coat, but its not shines like a freshly waxed car or anything. I really want to check it out in the sunlight tomorrow morning, but so far so good. I may be "sick" tomorrow so I can put it back together
