Hi all, just (this past Thursday) got a TJ/LJ Rubi with 64k miles. I got rid of my 2011 JKU, because I was frankly just unhappy with it...I know some of the JK guys might think I'm crazy but oh well. The LJ, She ain't perfect but my god has it been fun (and painful) working on her. Saturday/Sunday I stripped everything off of her so she's ready for her make over. Took her in on Monday to get Line-Xed inside and out. A bit nervous how this will turn out, but I've seen the work of the shop here and it looked great. I have allot of sanding to do still. Going to bed line (rustoleum) the fenders, mirrors, side steps, bumpers, gas cap, handles before I get her back this week. Then Saturday and Sunday will be spent putting it all back together. After that, I want to paint/bedline my dash and interior of the doors. I'll try to keep pictures up for those that just like to browse like me. Happy Trails!
Thanks! I thought about the black grill, but once I get the which and bumper back on it might be a good contrast...tell me what you think once its back on
I left mine out after I had some body work done, because it just flopped around in the fended well making all kinds of crazy noise because it would never sit just right...
And rustoleum makes some of the best spray bedliner you can get it in aerosol can at Autozone, but homedepot will have about $3 cheaper...

Thanks Ken! I'm starting to see a few spots that are not perfectly even (like where a bit more clear coat was used or something) not a huge deal to me, but something to consider for those thinking about doing this. This is a trail rig, not a show car, so I'm not crying lol. Maybe I can even it out with clearcoat on my own...
I like the looks of that!! And now have all kinds of questions rolling through my head....would a shop around here charge the same? Can they do any color? Do you have to deal with the DMV as far as description color etc? Will it work to halt rust/ last longer than just repainting?
Good idea though. I was worried about it, but so far no issues. Temp didn't go any higher than before with the 4 times I've had it on the highway, about 30 mins each trip. If it does become a problem ill jump all over the vents!
The shiny side is the painted side vs the underside. If it is all dull it's hard to tell which side is shiny.
