Its time for tires

My BFGs are on their way out and its past time for new tires. I'm not sure they'll even pass inspection. I need some input on a good tire, I'm looking at Firestone Destinations but I can't decide between the M/Ts and the A/ts. On their website theres a chart that said the M/Ts had a better tread life. I'll be driving back and forth to college some weekends (hour and a half away). What I want is a good tire that I can use on the off chance I can go off roading and will wear well because I can't afford to replace a tire every 10k miles.

Toyo Open Country MT. Excellent tire, they wear well, are a bit heavy and expensive, but you are definitely getting what you are paying for. They balance without much weight.

I don't know anyone that's worn a set out, but they should do at least as well as the BFG AT KO.

DuraTracs.... unbelievably quiet, yet aggressive. I love them! I talked to a guy that has 35k-40k on his 33's honestly looked like 40-50% tread was still left.
