I've found the one thing I hate about my TJ

DASH RATTLES. Simply put I've decided dash rattles are one of the absolute hardest things to diagnose on these things.

Cold weather: upon startup I have a buzz-like rattle that eventually goes away after the heat runs for a few minutes and (what I assume) the plastic expands.

Everyday: i have a rattle somewhere on the passenger side airbag area and just recently since I put my congo cage back on I have a rattle in the A pillar.

I spent most of today trying to track down the passenger side noise without digging too terribly deep into it. I had the climate controls, radio, and glovebox out and was pulling my hair out trying to find it.

Give me seized or stripped bolts any day.

The stuff in my glove box rattled. My solution was to take a couple of blue shop towels and fold them so they lined the glove box, then put everything back in. No rattles + I have towels if the need arises.

Checked those two bolts. Not the case, although I did crack the center dash piece at the top tray.... Great. Hunting for a new one, to keep THAT SOB from rattling i folded up a cvs rewards card (i don't buy condoms anymore anyway) and wedged it in there... Now I still have a rattle and broken plastic

Does it sound like a plastic on plastic type of rattle? My dad's TJ had a rattle behind the dash and it ended up being the Tube for the airconditioner above the radio that was rattling. We tightened the bolts that held it and has been quiet since.
