I've gotta prioritize...

New TJ owner here...

Specs

4 cyl 2.5l, auto transmission. Has 31x10.5 R15 Cooper tires, some chinese-made aluminum wheels, NO lift kit.

So I've developed a list of things I want to do...I'd like to benefit from the collective wisdom here to hopefully avoid some costly mistakes in configuration. Most of this work will be done at my bud's garage by he and I.

I'm looking at a 1.25 or 1.5 budget boost and probably a 2.5 suspension lift.

One of the questions I have is about tire and wheel size. I've lurked quite a bit over in the tire section, but since my TJ is a 4 cyl should I stay away from 33 inch tires?

I'm not planning to do any rock crawling, but will do some trails and fairly flat off roading (I'm in the midwest).

any help would be great!!

I'm in the same boat as you someone told me to look up IH8rds, she has a 4cy TJ and runs 33s and leads a number of runs. Checking out what she can do has made me re-think the 33's.

I assume you mean body lift and not a bb since you shouldn't mix the bb and spring lift.. if that's the case then I I say go for it..

As for 33s you'll just want to regear..
