Talking I've joined the TJ club.

Just bought my first TJ, and the first Jeep I've owned in almost 20 years.
It's a 2004 Light Khaki Metallic Rubicon, with a 5spd and 55k miles. I'm hoping to have it for 200k more.

It's a roadie rig as-is, and while I'm planning the mods I want to do to it (and am going to be relying on your collective experience), I'm most looking forward to the delivery of the soft-top.

(The TJ in the back is my cousin's, I have to return it now that I have my own, and no she's not selling)

Hope to see some of you on the road, and eventually in the mud!

I know, I lol'd too. In my defense, it wasn't mine when they did it, but yeah, they sure did. That's going to change, as soon as I have my lift figured out, some new wheels purchased, and made a decision on which 33's to get.

my lift started as a zone 4.25 combo. now I've replaced some of their parts and added some other currie/savvy stuff.

I bet it is getting pretty decent gas mileage with those tires!

Yeah, it's why I'm in no hurry to replace them until I get the right lift . @ 70-75mph for a full tanks worth of driving, I averaged 20.5mpg. Of course, that was still $13.65/hour for gasoline, but it wasn't as bad as I suspected it would be. Of course, I had the hardtop and the windows up (had to hear the daughter powered audio-book). I expect a different experience with 33's and lots of open air.

Run 55-60 MAX and you will see a large difference in mpg. I've had my TJ since last June and have never went over 70mph even once. I do 60 and just grin when people fly by doing 70-80...

Nice Rubi, but the description 5 spd, confuses me. What 5 spd are you talking about?

Honestly, I wasn't too thrilled about the color when I first saw pictures of it, but seeing it in person changed my mind. I was just looking for an 03-04 Rubicon, I didn't really even care what color it was (within reason).

Yeah, it's the 5spd Manual. I was looking for an 03-04 for that reason, I didn't want the Mercedes 6-spd. I heard that they could be hard to source parts/replacements for.

I was real close to buying a super clean Sport, but my buddies told me to hold out for a Rubicon so I did. Time (and money) will tell if I made the right call!
