Jeep 4l Piston

Does anyone know where you can can get a piston set or a single piston for a 4L? Jeep is in the shop with a broken piston skirt, the only place that I have been able to locate a single piston or a set if from the dealer. The only way the dealer can get them is in a piston and rod assembly which is not cheap. I would also rather replace the set and no a single to prevent this from happening again. Anyone have some insight on this? Anything would be appreciated. The Jeep is a 2002 4L by the way.

NAPA, Carquest - most any real parts houses can get them. Discount or Chinese places won't. Even if they did, I wouldn't trust their junk.

Napa, Carquest, ect do not sell the pistons in a set or individually. The only way to get them is from the dealer other than what I was able to locate on the inter webs

The only thing I would put a Keith Black in would be a trash can. X2 on machine shop, they can have them overnight easily

They're about $35 bucks each on the NAPA website...

Machine shop, summit racing, jegs should all have them.

Also, are you going to overbore it? I would to make sure the bores are perfectly round. Don't forget to put new rings and bearings.

Most importantly, ask the mechanic what caused the piston failure.

If it's in a shop, why are you the one doing the shopping instead of them? Are you just trying to get a better price?
