@vtjohn I have not posted since mid-May because I have fixed the majority of the mechanical issues I was having with my Wrangler, so I haven't been on the forum to search "what's this noise mean?" The Wrangler is my DD, and I have grown to love it, particularly the few times this Florida summer has allowed me to go topless/doorless, and the three times I have ridden on some trails. There are still a number of cosmetic/aesthetic things I would like to do, but on a teacher's salary, it's taking a bit of time. I appreciate all the (mostly) positive feedback that's been provided in this forum, and for those that encouraged me to keep the Jeep after I initially traded in my previous vehicle. I don't know that I'll ever drive anything that isn't a Wrangler beyond this point. I will be on the forum more in the coming months to get some ideas about bumper, wheel, tire, and lift modifications.

Thanks for the follow-up then Joe, and I stand corrected. Nice to see things have turned out well!

It sounds like most of the things wrong was visible when you purchased the Jeep. I purchased mine (2005) with 36000 miles and very good condition. Then I purchased a new top $500.00, new BFG's and wheels $1400.00. It looks like a new Jeep and has increased value by several thousand dollars. You can get parts over time and make yours look like new as well. It will increase in value for everything you do. Hang in there.

@vtjohn sure thing, brother. Looking forward to browsing the forum for ideas on improvements. I dig your Jeep.

@jimrjim I think mine was in decent condition for the year, a '98 with just about 110,000 miles and no real mechanical issues. I had to get a new top as well, and I am looking at 33" BFG's, wheels, a new lift/shocks, and a regear as my next mods. I hear you on increasing value, and since my initial post on this thread, I've become much more open to the idea that this will be a time-consuming process, but also that it will be rewarding. The Jeep is just too much fun to drive and I find that I don't miss the Honda Element much, if at all.

@powellst Sorry for the delay in replying to your PM. I have not been on the forum much and I'm still learning to navigate the site. I'll be sending a message your way here in the next few minutes.

Nice TJ you've picked up. I grabbed an '04 a couple of years back. Slowly kitting it out, last purchase was Discoverer STT 31's...just enjoy it...
