Jeep Dog

OK...My choices for a road buddy are an Italian Greyhoud and a Chihuahua...

Both little dogs and both very uninterested in traveling with me.

Post pictures of your Jeep Dog and tell us your story!

I used to run around with a Yellow Lab that loved water...

Hunter...I lived by the beach and there were also lots of lakes. Hunter would jump out of the Jeep and go after anything with wings. I took him for a walk one day by a small lake. We came upon mom and child feeding ducks. Hunter took off, dragged me for a few feet and went right for the ducks....he got one as it was trying to take off. Mom and child were horrified...

Maybe a Labrador is a bad idea?

In memory of Hunter...the best Yellow Lab that ever lived!

Greetings from Alabama!

I have a cattle dog mix. Cooper weighs about 50 pounds and he LOVES riding with me. So much so that I built him a custom padded bench on which to rest his forearms as he hangs out the side of the half door.
Even if I don't have anywhere to go I will usually take him for a ride in the evenings just because of the obvious thrill he gets from the experience.
Can you tell my boys are grown and I have no grandchildren?

No pics, but we have a chocolate lab who jumps in the jeep if we even walk towards it. She loves riding in it, and does a reasonable job of staying in the back seat.

Getting nets by next spring for her.

I'd highly recommend a lab!

Here is my German Shorthair- he's my bird dog and primary ride along while wheeling. If you look close at the second picture you can almost see him and my other two- a border collie and miniature Australian Shepard. They all love riding in the jeep... Almost as much as they love their food.

No pics yet but I've got a female Dalmatian and a male German Shepherd. Both love the Jeep.
Used to have a 90 lbs male dalmatian(Hoover: ate everything from underwear to toilet paper.)

Best Jeep dog is an Old English Sheepdog.

His name is Stosh and when he rides in the Wrangler he puts his elbow up on the window sill like I'm doing. It might be the funniest sight.

My jeep dog is a Weimaraner, although she isnt the best jeep dog because she thinks she is a mountain goat and climbs up as high as she can to look over the top of the cage. Whenever she rides in my truck she climes up on the tool box and looks over the cab. Needless to say she doesnt ride in the back of the truck very often. I think one of those Smittybilt CRES cargo nets are in my future.

Bostons are the best!!!!!!!!!! I've got 2, Spike and Cleo. They love going for bye-bye's in our Jeep. Usually because it means we're heading for the woods.

you must have one of those 1 in 100 cats that is sort of tolerable because it thinks its a dog.

Greyhounds LOVE car rides. Here's mine in the 4-door I had. He loved the backseat. He still fits perfectly in the back of my 2-door with the seat folded down. Sorry about the blurry Crackberry pic...

my pal is rooney a shelter mutt. Loves riding in the jeep and hangs way out so he can sniff everything as we pass it. He hasn't ridden in it wit the top on so it may be interesting come wintertime. He looks like a black and white collie mix and maybe lab or something
