Jeep flowmaster question!

Hello, i have a 2004 jeep wrangler rubicon and am wanting to go with either a magnaflow or flowmaster muffler. I know the flowmaster is more throaty/loud and has more of a cabin noise than magnaflow while magnaflow is more "free flowing". I want the best sounding, throaty/deep loud muffler and which series (i cant for the life of me find out if the original 40 series, super 40 or super 44 is the best for flowmaster on jeep 4.0s) to get if i go that route. Ps: what is the offset needed for when i order it and does anyone have a good site to buy it from please..

I have an old school 40 series 2 chamber with about an 18" long turn down. Love it. Deep throaty and loud.

I had the 40 Flowmaster on my 1998 TJ sounded cool. By no means a V8 sound but still liked it. When I got my 2004 LJ never bothered because that exhaust has dual cats.

Go on YouTube and look at videos of jeeps with mangaflow and flowmaster exhausts. My friend has a super 40 on his I believe. It's sounds pretty good. But in my opinion it's kinda annoying after a while of riding in the jeep cuz of the constant droning of the exhaust. Not bad you just have to turn the radio up louder. Which if you own a jeep you're probably used to doing that already. Haha and he has a 2000 4.0 auto btw

I like my 50 series as it is not as loud, but still sounds good.

Yea I originally thought magnaflow for the mpg and non drone but it doesn't sound nearly as good as flowmaster does. I'm told to save money and keep the stock pipe and if I want to just put a tip from flowmaster on it. I just wanted the tail pipe to look a little more clean as its a rusty brown, anyone know a good cleaner for it if any?

I haven't put one on my TJ yet, but I like my Magnaflow on my Ram better than the Flowmaster on my Silverado. Besides, if you dont get into overdrive or 5th much, you're going to get a drone no matter which one you get

i would save your money unless the muffler is rusted out and put it elsewhere. I am pretty sure that Dynamax always has a cat back muffler sale in the Spring for way cheap like $60 or something. If it is not broken do not worry about fixing it.

Loud muffler is cool for about 5 minutes. The prev owner installed a flowmaster on mine, it will be coming off eventually for a quieter muffler.

And can someone explain what they mean by drone? I would be getting the exhaust for noise and would expect it to make a loud noise constantly but don't understand what y'all mean by an annoying drone

When you are driving on the highway, same speed for a while. Many loud mufflers just get this deep tone, gets annoying after a while.

That's the dreaded drone tone.

Mustang I had sound was loud on idle and take off but not at constant speed. Is that not possible on a loud exhaust on the i6 4.0?

Got a flow master 40...also have a "high flow cat" The muffler shop put it on.....also "Sold" me on a chrome angled tip...I get more questions and complements on it than just about anything else on the Jeep....BTW highway all I hear is wind/ radio and tires...I have Duratracs..only notice the motor/ exhaust if I "get on it"

Original 40? And do you have a pic of the angled tip because I was considering a tip that comes out the back under the bumper that is rounded

The drone doesn't seem to bother you at all? Ps: your lucky because we haven't gotten snow like that down here in 3 years

I have a 03 Sahara 4.0, auto, I'm thinking about getting the Banks Monster cat back 2.5" system. My local shop has magnaflow and flow master, but I've heard and read a lot of good reviews on the Banks cat back.

Heard the banks is good too but I know it's too quiet for my tastes.

Is it quiet? They told me it was loud and throaty and you tube videos it sounds good. I want loud, but sounds good. Like everyone else, I'm used to putting a set of flow master 40's or some magnaflows on a V8 lol. Which I know we are not going to get V8 sound. So which are you thinking ?
