Jeep Ideas

So I rencently joined the Jeep family with my purchase of a 2005 TJ. I've owned at least one 4x4 since I turned 16 but this is my first Jeep. So now I have one question for you all... What should I do to it? Haha! I like the height of it right now but might actually go lower as this is my dd. My jeep has a 4" rough country lift on it now but no sye or upgraded driveshaft (not sure if I need that at 4" or not...) the ride on this lift is pretty rough overall but so were all my other lifted 4x4's. It has some bump steering but not bad unless it's a big bump. Any ideas on something around a 3.5 or less? The rims are
15x8 with a 33x12.5, should i go to a 15x10? I hate the tube bumper up front especially since there isn't one in the rear. Any ideas on bumpers? (front and rear with tire carrier) Shout out some opinions of what you have and let me know what you think of mine now.

buy it (check) ... the next things I would do is build it and wheel it ... It looks like a nice jeep already, you can only go further from there. Welcome to the forum.

I like to ride around topless

I know exactly what it needs. It needs for you to take the top and doors off and let it have some fun. There are a million things you can do to a Jeep to make it your own. Go play, do some research on the bumpers available in your price range, take your time and do it right. It looks like you already have a great starting point. So go enjoy it.

The first thing I would do is get rid of that tube bumper.. but that's me. The great thing about Wranglers is.. you can do with it pretty much whatever you want.. there's so much out there. It's almost insane. There's an addiction.. and you're now part of it.

Welcome, JD has it right, wheel it for a while and see what you like and don't like and go from there.

rim size is fine for 33's. If you want a bit better ride, I would look into some nicer shocks, and maybe a nice used set of At tires for its daily driver duty.

Don't do anything until you drive it 3000 miles and read 300 posts. Then and only then will you get even a little idea what you want to do. Look at it now, and note, everything your looking at can be replaced............EVERYTHING!!!!!! I did a few things to mine.....then I was sorry I changed things too soon. I got the right mods sold the old stuff now I'm much happier. So my advice is drive & read or read & drive FIRST. Oh yeah WELCOME.......think about becoming a "Supporting Member" (only $25.00 a year)and get the coolest decals for it too.

I may not be as good for as many times as I once was, but, I'm as good once as I ever was ! ! !

I have the Bestop HighRock bumper and love it. I would really recommend it
4 liter in line six, Bestop Highrock bumpers, Warn winch, light guards, grill guard, Westin running boards, Dick Cepec DC-1's on 33" Mickey Thompson MTZ's, pocket style fender flares, d-rings, hard top, tinted windows, a completely redone sound system with Alpine Type S in rollbar, Arc speakers in the dash and an Alpine headunit, Iggee's seat covers, 3" suspension lift, MBRP Exhaust System, IPF fog lights, steering stabilizers, a woofer, 12" ported Rockford Fosgate subwoofer and amp.

Check the air in the tires, it may be a tad high for comfort. More likely shocks causing the roughness, but psi is too free and easy to adjust not to look at it first....

I agree with the general concensus above:
Don't spend money on major parts until you've had it a while. Get used to it. Look around. Browse pics of other people's Jeeps, and see what you think of their looks.
I origionally was going to gowith the tube bumpers, I like the retro CJ look. But now I'm leaning toward some rock crawler bumpers.

I'm likin this place already haha! I totally agree with getting rid of the tube bumper first. As for the rough ride... I knew that's what I was in for when I bought the jeep. I have lots of friends who own them. As for shocks i'm lookin at gettin either the RE monotubes or the rancho 9000's not sure which yet but i've heard good things about both and I got such a good deal on the Jeep that I got a little extra cash to spend. (Bought it from a lady getting her 2ND divorce.) My dad and I built a custom bumper for my 95 dodge ram so I'll probably end up doin somethin like that for the Jeep but I've found some good deals on tire carriers so i might go with that. I have so much to write but I'll stop for now... Thanks for all your replies! You guys and gals are awesome!
