Jeep keep going dead

I got a 2000 Wrangler that has a problem that I need to solve. It dont do this all the times sometimes I can go a whole week without any problem. It will start then go dead take several try to get it running long enough to move it but then it is moving very slow. If you can make it rip up it will go back to working fine. It acts like it has bad gas. The check engine light never come on. Dont have the money to take it to a mechanic so any advice is helpful.

Just for kicks, check your battery. It's a free and easy check at local auto store.

I run mine without doors so I pull the fuse for interior light, but that also runs the alarm to let you know when you leave the headlights on. Long story short, I leave my headlights on and don't know it, it kills my battery so I have to jump it off. It's an older battery also.

Anyway, After getting it started up, it will not run without giving it gas. It'll spin over, start, everything will be fine, just won't stay running until that battery is peaked off. Once I get it going it's fine.

It made me scratch my head, never seen a vehicle that wouldn't stay running due to low battery but..... this one does it.

I would test your alternator. If you have a battery charger, see if it has a setting for testing it.
