Jeep Newb needs help

Always wanted a Jeep and this one feel into my lap.
1997 Sahara, completely stock.

The Jeep, Sarah as I call her sat for almost two years.
Here is where I am looking for some direction.

1-the vehicle sat for almost two years with a crock pot inside. It reeks.
I have taken striped all rubs, seats, roll bar wraps, etc but I am still fighting the order. Making progress but its slow. Any ideas?

2-The clear coat has bubbled/work out in several places. How is this repaired?

3-Frame has good amount of rust-thinking of soda blasting and Por-15 the frame. This is the right approach?

4-Windshield has a 2 inch crack. Repair or replace?

5-Hardtop has chipped--tan color-how to repair?

6-I need to replace the front driver side brake line to pass inspection. How does one do this so I can leave room for a future lift?

Been reading and lurking for a few months. Greatly appreciate any advice you guys may have.

Is it surface rust or can you stick a screwdriver through the frame?

POR -15 is made to "Paint Over Rust" if it is just surface rust I would soda or sand blast it and get it powder coated or if $ is a issue I would still sand blast it but spray it with undercoat it is paint with rubber in it.

If you have full coverage just call the insurance to get the windshield replaced for free. I have had a windshield filled in before and couldn't tell where the crack was. But I think two inches would be to big to repair. A windshield company can tell you the best route.

Look up to see if there are Any hydraulic hose company's near you. The one here where I live can make the soft part hose for the break in any length you wang a lot cheaper than places sell the hose for lifted jeeps. You just have to take them your old break lines cause they reuse the ends

as for the hard top chip, go to autozone and get some bondo fiberglass repair kit. It my be hard to find spice matched rattlecan so I would recommend just repainting the whole top black with black fusion paint after a good prep.

on the odor, take the top, and doors off, drive it on the highway for about ten miles, it worked when my buddy lost a fish under his seat for a couple days. if that doesn't work, ten air fresheners should help some

**Check under the seats for dead animals and the dash areas as well. Never heard of any survivors from an old crockpot left in truck! Bugs and d'em mices love to leave leftovers in all the odd places.

2-The clear coat has bubbled/work out in several places. How is this repaired?
**I would ask a local boby shop on this one.

3-Frame has good amount of rust-thinking of soda blasting and Por-15 the frame. This is the right approach?
**YES. I'm gonna strip mine down this coming spring/summer, then POR-15 it.

4-Windshield has a 2 inch crack. Repair or replace?
**It's up to you. I just replaced mine for $201.00. If you want to do it yourself you can replace your windshield - www.jeepglass.com - for a $130.00.

5-Hardtop has chipped--tan color-how to repair?
**I would ask a local boby shop on this one.
6-I need to replace the front driver side brake line to pass inspection. How does one do this so I can leave room for a future lift?
**Hmm, I have no idea.

I hope this helps you out, alittle, and congrats on your new ride!

Dan
