NP241J Speed Sensor

I recently installed a NP241 transfer case in my '98 TJ and love it, with the exception of the lack of a speedometer. Below i have attached two images of my case installed. The top one looking at it from behind, the bottom from the front. The final picture is one that i found on the forums. It shows a 241J on the left, with a speed sensor output in a similar location to the stock 231 on the right.

As you can see, the output shaft on mine is different, and does not include the output for the speed sensor. I am looking for a way that i can build or wire a sensor into my harness. Is there a different output for this style case that I am missing, or do i need to engineer a system that will produce a similar output to the stock sensor?

Has anyone else run into a similar issue?

Thanks in advance!

From the looks of it, you have the wrong type T case.
You would have to change the output shaft, rear bearing case, rear case half, and most likely shorten the drive shaft. If it's possible. Or find the correct T case. Sorry.

God I miss that Jeep. Forgot the kinda Jeep, 80 SX4.

The case is already installed and functioning. Literary the only thing that i am missing is the spedo. I can't be the first one to install a t-case without a spedo drive gear built in. Has anyone done anything off the tone rings for the ABS, or a hall effect sensor off a drive shaft? I would hate to have to reinvent the wheel, but if i have to so be it... The t-case is staying.

ever find a solution?

It's been forever since your post but I'm in the same boat and I'm wondering if you ever found a solution! If I knew what signal the computer wanted I could make something work but I don't have that information...
