Thumbs up Jeep Spice Monstashade

Hey everyone! I just bought my jeep in june of 2012 and immediately go annoyed with the surface rust and scratches in the tub and on the top rails where the hard top sits on. So....I bought monstaliner in the shade of "Jeep spice." It came out amazing and the chassis saver was crucial for some of the surface rust.It was abnormally hot out today (85 to 90 degrees for Buffalo, New York) so the Monstaliner dried absurdly quick. I did the paint and tape job myself and spent 1 full week sanding and prepping the surface rust and the occasional beer helped get me through the rusted bolts and torx heads .. Well let me know what you guys think... I have only begun the mods
(P.S. - I forgot to take any before photos, but I did take some with the chassis saver and the final product). If anyone has any questions...I am no expert!. but, I certainly can help you out and point you in the right direction..I have many years of exposure to paint and body work as my dad spent close to 25 years in the industry spraying old muscle cars and designing exteriors.

The pictures are all attached. Next I intend to add steel blue accents throughout the interior..add a cold air intake...a snorkel...get rid of the chrome on the exterior...and paint the fender flares with black monstaliner.

I have heard a lot about plastidip. Thanks for the tip!

OH, and the main reason I put this up on the thread is so that people who want jeep spice monstaliner know what it will look like in the tub. I couldn't find pictures for the interior ANYWHERE! The only pictures on magnet paints was for someone who painted their hard top "jeep spice"

Well, I'm gonna go research this plastidip material and add the accents. Peace Out!

Looks great, I ordered some of this for my brother's Jeep since he has a spice top and interior, should look great! Thanks for posting. Whats the best way to get it around the stock jack mount under the passenger seat?

I used a half inch paint brush ( I'm sure the one included in the kit will be fine) and just dabbed in the nooks and crannies... I felt like I was sponge painting back in elementary school for most of the corners and hard to reach areas. Good luck! Can't wait to see how your project comes out!

Wow...looks awesome! Looks like you put a lot into the prep - just the chassis saver alone looks great. Though truthfully, I DID click on this thread because I thought it said "Jeep Spice Moustache". I HAD to see what a "spice moustache" was...seemed hilarious.

I did my tub in plain ole black Monsta and I have to say it has been the best $150 I have spent on my Jeep so far. Nice job!

Thanks

You just helped me make my choice, I pulled the carpets out of my jeep today and started looking around at bed liner. Found the Jeep spice from monster. But couldn't find a pic anywhere. Go figure a member right here on WF came through with some great pic's. Based on the price I was hesitant to buy with out really seeing the color, now I know that it will look perfect in my green Sahara. Thanks again!!!
