Jeep TJ fog lights

Im looking at adding front fog lights to my Jeep.. KC is doing replacement fog lights for the TJ, stating it plugs directly into the original harness

I can find 2 plugs behind the grill, but the 1 (UK driver side) have some kind if plastic bit plugin, thought it might just be to block it off, but when I unplug it, I notice there is actually connection pins in the plastic bit, and when testing it with the multimeter, I get a resistance reading..

Here is a pic to show the plastic terminator..

Any idea what this is, and is there any connection for the fog lights that can be used??

Those are for the temp sensors. The one that is there is for the computer. The empty one is for the optional rear view mirror temp sensor.

The factory fog light harness is under the fenders, with the side marker lights.

You'll also have to change out the multifunction switch on the steering column if you want the factory fog switch. Otherwise, you can add a switch on the dash.

You probably are not wired for the factory fog light. Just buy a fog light kit with a relay and a switch

No, it won't be completely wired. Not sure how much of the wiring is already there in the TJs. The dash was pre-wired in my YJ, but that was it.

Here is the Mopar kit to add fogs to your TJ: MOPAR 82208017 - MOPAR® Production Fog Lamp Kit for 03-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ & Unlimited - Quadratec

The factory fogs on the '05s and 6s were just Hella 500s in a Jeep housing.

Much cheaper to buy a Hella kit, get a factory fog switch for the dash that came in older TJs, and wire it up.

I believe it is completely wired. My daughter's '05 with no fogs has the same wiring connections under the fender that my '03 with factory fogs has. There is a write up here on the forum somewhere about about a plug under the steering wheel where you can easily access the connections for the factory wiring if you don't want to change out the turn signal lever. You can tap in to the plug with your own switch.

I have a '99 Sport; I don't see any wires under the fenders except for the side markers. Do I need to run all the wiring for fogs, or is some of it there?

My 06 did not have factory fogs. PO bought Mopar light set with wiring harness and new steering column switch but never installed as he thought it would be too complex to take apart dash. I found the factory wiring harness had the plug-in fog connector under the fenders and installed the switch on the column in about 15 mins. Didn't have to use the after-market wiring harness. I did have to add a relay in the engine compartment fuse box ($11) to get it to work. There is a good write-up if you search factory fogs that clued me in to the need for the relay since my TJ wasn't set up for fogs from the factory.
