Jeep trade offer

I was offered a trade for a 99 Camaro z28 completely stock. For my 99 wrangler se. As much as I love my jeep I've had the itch for something with power lately. Should I do it?

I couldn't do it, I have a 99 Z28 and a 00 sport. I don't think I could get rid of either.

Is it a friend?

If so, why not trade for 2 weeks and see how you guys like it?

^^x2^^ IMHO I wouldn't do it unless I had a second jeep for a toy. If you've only got one jeep, you're probably gonna regret the decision as soon as you drive off. I've traded jeeps for other things and very much regretted it immediately. I always go back to a jeep!! It's not worth it for something like a Z28. Like i said though, IMHO. Good luck with the decision!!

Now if you were talking about a prestine 300ZX, I would have a hard time deciding as well...lol

Here is a thing to remember. I am a gearhead and look at the ease of working on or maintaining a vehicle. 99 camaro is a m-fer to work on. a 99 jeep is easy. Just my two cents.

You were offered an even trade? heck no, your tj is worth more that the F body. I have a 78' camaro and an 89 camaro but neither of them compare to driving a jeep. Only thing I like about my camaros is how I can just whip out of corners and drive aggressive.

But I live on an island during the summer so I never take my camaros out to the island. Stick with the jeep.

I traded a 4x4 for a sports car once... Worse trade in my life. I immediately missed having something that was useful for more than speed.

I drove a 300ZX for a long time- T-tops, 5-speed, two seater.... God, I LOVED that car. Wouldn't trade it for my Wrangler, though. Too much fun, topless option and easier to work on. Plus the 300 didn't do so well in the dirt.

I have a current model bmw M3 and daily drive the Jeep instead... in fact, you can see it to the left. Only use it for track days now.

as soon as you see the Tj taillights you'll be using every horse in that Z28 to catch him and trade back, but unfortunately he will have been bitten by the bug and there will be no way to get him out of it.
Sounds like you need to yank to doors and top off and go for a ride.
If your still debating the trade go test drive a few used nice rides and see if that does it for ya.

I drive a 500hp+ Jag for my clients and he lets me get into it, and every time I drop him off I love getting into my bouncy ole' Jeep.

I can almost guarantee that if you trade you actually become physically sick.

Just think about this.. He is willing to part with his z28 camaro for your jeep. he is saying for sure that your jeep is better than his camaro. plus High octane gas for the camaro right? WInter sucks in a camaro, girls love jeeps. camaros are old news.

Now a older 67,68,69 camaro HELL YA!!!!!

Need more info on the Z28...miles, condition, stick or auto? If it's a T-56 with decent miles I say do it. If you regret it later you can always get another jeep...maybe a 4.0 next time . Or you might be able to find a cheap higher mileage 98 Z28/TA and pay out of pocket while keeping your jeep.

The only thing that I hated about DDing my 00 Z28 were the ricers...they're like flies on shit to muscle cars. I never really noticed them driving other vehicles but when I bought my Z28 they came out of the woodwork.

In 99 I bought a new SS and in 01 I traded it in on a new tj sport. Since then I've always had a jeep in some form or another and have never even considered buying another camaro. Keep the jeep.

No you can run them on 87 with a stock tune but it'll run off a low octane timing table. From the owners manual "If you have the 5.7L V8 engine (VIN Code G), use premium unleaded gasoline rated at 91 octane or higher FOR BEST PERFORMANCE. YOU MAY USE MIDDLE GRADE OR REGULAR UNLEADED GASOLINES, BUT YOUR VEHICLES ACCELERATION MAY BE SLIGHTLY REDUCED."

Winter does suck though, even with decent tires and light throttle traction can be a PITA on inclines and what not.
