Sounds like either the transfer case not unlocking or something spun loose in your gearing. Auto or stick? Did you look under the Jeep between the TC and the rear axle to see if everything looks alright?

Transfer case for some reason is stuck in neutral. Get under there and start looking around.

I would *like* more info.

But from that, it sounds to me like the transfer case is in neutral and the linkage has come undone.

With the engine off, can you put it in 1st?
See if it still rolls easy.
If so then your back to the transfer case.

Dont mess with linkage when the engine is on, don't worry I'm sure it's not a big deal I had a similar problem where I put it in 4hi but I couldn't go anywhere, shifter was just stuck in neutral, hehe. Good luck. Nothing major once all the halfshafts and drive shafts are in place and proper order.

If its still rolling in gear then the transfer case is still in neutral. If you can't figure it out by looking around underneath you should just bring it somewhere and have them check it out.

My diagnosis is the transfer case linkage clamp bolt has come loose so the lever mechanism is sliding on the shift rod. That simply means the t-case lever can no longer shift the t-case from Neutral back into gear.

That bolt is circled in red in the below photo.
