Jeep wont start without gas

Hey,
I have a 98 manual. On Monday I tried cranking it but it would not crank. It was turning over and if I pushed the accelerator it would start. Does anyone know what could be wrong? It had no problems before this. It has around 120,000 miles on it.

Won't hurt to run a bottle of injector cleaner through with the next tank of gas also.

Low battery voltage can cause this. Is your battery old, weak or has it been run down recently?

Your Idle Air Control valve in the throttle body is stuck. Clean the TB. If it's really bad, you may have to remove the TB and take it apart to clean it.

w2w is right. Mine did this, and after cleaning the terminals, it starts fine. I deal with a lot of corrosion on my battery. I keep a bottle of the acid off spray with me because when it rains, it does it evey time. The battery needs changing also.

Hey, it has a full tank. The battery is pretty old. I guess I will try some of this stuff. The title does sound funny now that I look at it.
