Jeeps and Junkyards

I'm fairly new to the jeep game (going on my first 6 months driving one everyday)

Like most people here, I've become addicted to constantly wanting to upgrade / customize my 03 wrangler.

I used to drive a Honda, which was pretty much overflowing in the junkyards......however I was looking for a stock cruse control, and some other random things. My first thought was to do the same thing I'd do if I needed something like that with my Honda.......go to the junkyard and pick thru the rows and rows of Honda's till I found what I was looking for.

With my Wrangler, not the case, not the case at all........At the time of this posting there is 1 jeep in the entire pull-a-part database (which seems to be the largest national junkyard)

Just thought I'd post this to see if anyone else has found it difficult to find any year jeep wrangler that has been wrecked.

OR anyone found a Jeep Wrangler Gold Mine in the south east?????

When Jeeps die.. which is a rarity.. they are good citizens.. organ donors.. Unlike some carcases.. it usually happens quickly and with love. They don't have to sit around in the morgue waiting to be used..

Your best bet is to find someone online who deals in salvaged Jeeps. Since they aren't much more than a drivetrain with a little tub on top.. they get parted out really quick. Check craigslist too.

Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

Check that site out, and search for a few MAJOR parts that would be common and then call for the little things. I found out today that the yard 2 mins. from me had all the blower parts still in stock but not listed in the databases.
