Just an fyi on adding AC to your TJ

Hey all I just completed the install of a vintage air compac unit in my 97 TJ. The install was pretty straight forward once you get the column and dash out. I welded closed all of the factory holes in the firewall and upper cowl and drilled new ones for the heater and ac hoses to go through. Mounting the unit was very easy and it fits with tons of room to spare...I actually thought of returning the compac unit and getting the magnum but the guy from vintage air talked me out of it thankfully. The air blows cold enough that on really hot days I only need to run it on low fan speed and I turn the temp up cause it gets to cold.

I know that there is a company that sells all of the factory parts to modify your air box and add the compressor etc but it wasn't really an option for me with the LS conversion. Plus the VA system was a little cheaper for me since I already had the compressor. I posted this because when I was researching this I wasn't able to find any info on adding VA to a TJ and which unit would fit so I figured I would help out the next guy.

I did take pictures and would be happy to email them to anyone interested. Just be patient since I don't have time to check in on this forum everyday.
