i just bought an '06 Se, 4cyl. i've been riddled with problems the moment i lift the lot, thank god for warranties! the cat effeciency trouble code popped up, and i started noticing transmission problems. without writing too much in here, the short of it is the snchros were worn, as well as the clutch. now the trans shop stated that the transmission in the jeep is unique in the fact that you don't find the 4cyl. in a 6 speed to often. from what i searched...the '06 SE manual was released as a 6 speed! the shop said the transmission itself was a mercedes transmission and not the AX-15, making the synchros hard to come by, and pretty much i had them change out the whole transmission. it's still in the shop, and they should be getting in the whole assembly in a day or two. has anyone else come across this problem before with the '06 6 speed? is this going to be an ongoing problem with the trans? i planning on getting a 6" rough country lift in a month or two...i just don't want to have to worry about the trans after i install the lift.
