Just bought 1999 Wrangler, 4.0 L, auto, 60K miles, completely stock. My first Jeep.
To be used as a toad behind my motor home, not a daily driver. I would like to modifiy it to become a capable off road vehicle for my hunting and fishing expeditions Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome. I bought a '99 recently too, though this is my first Jeep.
I am going through it in phases for budget reasons but I'm focusing on replacing all fluids, checking critical components, and hunting a noise that is whispering of a problem in need of fixing. I always do the same thing with used vehicles when I get them. Enjoy your TJ!
For some, it is easier to kill the light inside of themselves than it is to fight the darkness all around them.
I bought a 99 sport lifted 4" with 32 at's aftermarket bumpers, lockers CAI, TB Spacer, heated seats 102,000 For 9600 all my coworkers who know nothing bout jeeps said I paid to much but in reality the jeep coulda been sold a lot higher, congrats on your jeep and hope you love it!!!
You did pay too much....but that's because Jeeps cost too much in the after market. It's nutty if you ask me.
I paid 9300 for mine too two years ago an thought that was too much but that's what they cost. I have a guy trying to buy it from me now and have a firm offer for 10k for it.
Not many cars out there you can buy, run for a few years, and make money on it.
I have a co worker that just bought a gorgeous two door 1997 Jaguar. Low miles too. The car is really fantastic looking and a rare model for the us. He paid 11k for it. To think that my jeep is 14 years old an still worth just under 50 percent of what it was new is really nutty.
