Just got a new jeep

Just got a 2002 tj sport. It's white with a tan top and tan interior. It's only got 39,500 original miles. Had a 1999 sport but got rid of it cause it was getting pretty run down. Tell me what you guys think of it.

Thanks and usually yes it is just getting broken in but this one was ran really hard before I had got it and it was needing some love and attention that I just couldn't give. So now got one like brand new

Def a nice find, good luck with it. Assuming the power Windows are not standard.

Have the same seats in mine, believe its the standard tan pattern.

Are you a prior jeep owner or new to Jeepin all together? If new,,,, You'll probably wanna start getting some toys for it now. Thats the fun part of owning a jeep (just empty every pocket) . Check out 4wd.com and quadratec for all sorts of parts and Fat Bobs Garage for cheap lifts.

Best of luck. Oh yah, great color choice!!!

Yea it is clean and the PO installed power windows. And they do actually work pretty good. Of course when they go our I will pit cranks back on it but I'll run with it for now. Only thing I'm not liking is it is a 3 speed and has 3.07 gears but its ok I do miss over drive on the highway. Any reason it has a 3 speed? It's an 02 and I thought those came with a 4 speed.

I would MUCH rather have the 3spd 32rh than the 4spd OD tranny. Keep the 3spd cool and out of the water and it will outlast the Jeep......

What is so much better about the 3-speed? And yea the power windows are nice. I just have to fix them with some quick connecting so that I can remove the doors but no need to worry about it right now with it being winter.

there was a thread discussing the deficiencies of the over drive trannys but cant find it now. problem is that "jeep" poorly geared the o/d. the goal was to improve mpg but instead it shifts into o/d too soon dropping your rpms to 1500- 1800 robbing you of power. and it doesnt even improve you mpg's. i try to turn off my o/d every time i start my TJ. only use on the freeway.

Yes good looking Jeep. White is the best color, but I may be biased. I thought of power windows, but power locks worked better for me due to the weather where I live. I put them in myself and surprisingly it was pretty easy.

Ok that makes sense. I will defiantly stick with my 3 speed then. And it sure is a sweet color but I'm biased too so.. And I would like to get power Locks how did you do it? Do you have a write up on it?
