Nice jeep and welcome to the forum! Post some pics of suspension, front and rear axles, and steering and we can let you know exactly what you have and what your weak points are.

What do you plan on doing with your jeep offroad wise?

As far as I can tell, only three trims were made in 1999: SE, Sport, and Sahara. Were the Sport or Sahara stickers taken off, or did the PO put 35" wheels on an SE?

it is a 4.0 according to the sticker in the side. That means not an se (the se only came in a 2.5) so yiu have a sport or Sahara. If it a Sahara it will have a green and tan interior

Congratulations on the new Jeep! After you fix the trans leak, the first thing I'd do is take the end caps off of those stock bumpers! I couldn't see the rear very well in the pics, but if it still has the factory rear bumper, you may want to think about buying an aftermarket one with a tire carrier as the 35 inch spare tire is way too big and heavy for the factory tailgate mount.

Looks good to me. Here in AZ, a clean 99 with 114k miles would sell for $5-6k. A little more for the lift and tires (depending on...) and a little less for the tranny leak.

and more

here are more and one is of the trans leak, i believe all it will need is some thread locker to keep it tight. also with this jeep being an automatic what are some things i can do to prevent water from getting in the tranny and t case. i have heard automatic are bad about sucking in water.

Looks like you have a D35 rear axle. You can run it, but there's a good chance the shafts will give up on the trail with 35 in. tires. If you want to strengthen the rear, you can swap in a ford 8.8, swap in a D44 out of a TJ (direct swap), or throw a super 35 kit on it. The super 35 gives you some very strong shafts and a locker, some like it some day it's a waste of money. If you can fab the 8.8 is the cheapest. If not, then the price difference is negligible.

Unless you find a dana 44 for cheap. I have about $425 in mine.

Yea but you're the exception, not the rule. I have a super 35 in progress, but have been keeping an eye out for a D44 or 8.8 ready to swap in at a halfway affordable price or a high school senior. The biggest price for me is going to be a regear, assuming the d44/8.8 won't be 3.07.

Live in Niceville....used to sell to restaurants there 25 years ago. Is Anh Thi's still there? Dino used to have a pizza shop near the center. That was in my younger days and loved it. Lived in Pcola and made the run down on Tuesdays....Redbeards would be the stop in Navarre bridge on the way back. All the places are probably gone these days....I have heard through the grapevine it's really been built up. Take care....your post just got me reminiscing..

If I remember correctly the X package came first in 2002, I own a 99, don't believe it was the first to do anything special like that, but I could be wrong.

Few things.. 1. once you figure out the issue with the trans, consider upgrading your transmission oil cooler, will go a long way to keep the trans alive. Also with the miles, check the radiator.. once they reach 100+ miles its only matter of time before the top plastic bust and you need a new one... The breathe for the trans.. I think is on the passenger side.. very small tube.. you can add a longer one to it...

first things first, you are probably running 3.07 or 3.73 gears, my 99 came with a limited slip. lose the 35's and go 33". personally I am not a fan of the no hardware softtop so i'd probably get a new soft top with hardware but to each their own. If you are only going to be on the street and never off road, i'd look into getting rid of the 4" lift for a 2" lift. don't need to be that tall for street driving.

my $0.02
