Just me? or do the floor vents not work very well?

my jeeps heat is amazing. the vents get hot enough to hurt your hand if you hold it over the heat for a few seconds, but when on floor vents the heat is grabbed by the bottom lip of the dash and circulates behind the dash.

Even on high with the temp turned down it seems the air rises to quickly and does not flow into the cab.

Is this just me or my jeep? the floor vent barley help heat anything because all the heat just goes right behind the dash.

with any other car, on floor with the blowers turned up you can slowly feel a wave of heat rise, but not with the jeep.

I use the face vents to warm up and find myself drying out fast haha

maybe I need to put some panels in to aim the air?

I have the same issue on my 2001. My wife complains all the time of her feet getting cold because there is not enough air coming out at the floor level. I checked it today and the outlet is right next to the center part of the dash on either side, about 6" up or so. I'm thinking of putting in some type of plastic to direct the air to the feet.

Not sure about you guys but if I leave my floor vents on, even with floor vent+defroster, my ankles get burnt in no time

My 05 has the same problem. The floor heat actually cools off the temp coming up through the tunnel/gearshifter.

My drivers side cooks me, but does not heat the cab. Im running with a soft top in temps well below freezing though, so it cools pretty fast :P on long drives it keeps the temp just right tho. according to passengers my pass side barely works, but hell if I care

my passenger side seems to work better then drivers.
I just heat up on face vents pointed down then maintain the temp with the floor vents, once its cold again I repeat, if needed.

Im running in 10-20 degree F as of now. with a hard top. its not so bad.

I have been less than impressed with my heater. Even with the hard top.

i think they have probs with their duct work design. i have ok heat-warms up fine and all but i think alot of it gets lost behind the dash. mine gets real warm to the touch. my floor side doesn't get all that warm but wife says her side would fry bacon-think once spring gets here i'm going to look into it(little cold right now to be doing that kind of work unless it was necessary)

I have a similiar problem with my '95 YJ. The floor vent pointed towards the driver's feet blows warm air while the vent pointed towards the passenger's blows cold here. I don't know how this if possible because all the air seems to come through the top of the vent. Does anyone have any ideas ?

Mine heats up my toes very well. I just wish there was a setting or floor+dash.

You might have some type of issue. Assuming you have a TJ the only time I hear people complain about the heat is if there is something wrong, especially with a hard top. These dudes have a pretty good heater in them. Even in my soft top in close to zero temps once it warms up I have to put it on low and tone down the temp as well.

Mine sucks, the heat never gets that hot anywhere. I put in a new heater core, did a flush and fill, new thermostat, new vacuum pod, all vacuum lines seem to be fine. Did the eaither twest and that had no results. Now today at certian times it seems to lose vacume and starts blowing cold air in passenger floor board.

My dash vents barley blow any heat. The floor vents are the only ones that really do anything in my tj. My YJ had a better heater honestly

If you build your jeep so big and bad that it's really easy to get threw everything out there, then your going to get bored.
