Just pulled the trigger. New tj!!

I am now the proud owner of a dark blue(midnight blue?) 2001 tj 4.0 sport. It does not have the head problem. Only 77000 miles woman owned with a virgin frame . I am so excited I jus pulled the milk jugs off 10 min ago in the dark. No lift and new tires! Pretty much stock.

Owned by a 77 year old virgin? Oops. I read that wrong. Just kiddin', man. Love it. It's a great feeling when you get your latest Jeep. Looks like you got a real nice one. Does it have a D 44 rear end? It's nice to have a hard top as well. Good purchase. Now take it off the beaten trail and see how it feels.

I plan on keeping it stock for a while and research lifts etc. it's got a d44 n ac. The hard top is wired up which I thought was an extra nice touch. I essentially traded my ford fusion in at a family owned ford place. Price bout 10. So the 9100 would be cheap.

Looks like a dandy. Glad you aren't in a hurry to take it swimming or otherwise tear it up. Plenty of fun can be had, without all the damage.

In the sun it really pops. I can't believe how good condition it is in. Granted scratching it will be in the future haha

Nice score, welcome to the club!

Good idea wheeling it stock for a while to see what kind of offroad you want and where you might be limited with stocker. Research lots, buy once! I decided on a mild lift for my 2006 Rubicon, under armour and modest tire size upgrade, I like climbing rocks and generally manage to keep up with more radical rigs by driving better (old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill) hahahaha

Where are you located?

I live in Blacksburg va. It must have some new shocks or something because the suspension is smoother than my car EVER was. I mean bumps are an endangered species now

Tomorrow I want to start changing fluids. How hard is it to change the differential fluid? What tools and what type of fluid? Thanks

Diff,
Pop the cover, let it drain, dry the edging of the cover and the housing, put rtv sealant or a lube locker on, bolt back up, remove fill plug, fill till it starts pouring out, and put cap back on.

I think the bolts are 12mm, and I dont remember the fluid weight.

Congrats! Bought my 97 last year with 73K. Low mileage older TJs are hard to come by....
